what is impression coping?
Impression Coping or Transfer Coping or Impression Post
Dentist uses the impression coping to replicate the position of implant in patient's mouth.
There is two specific techniques for impression coping, "Transfer impression coping" and "pick up impression coping" and in slang they called "Closed tray" and "Open tray" respectively.
Impression coping in different systems has various shapes and dentist after opening the healing cap, tightly closes it on the fixture and impression.
1. Open tray
In this way after setting time of impression material, screws of impression coping open by wrench and bring out of the mouth.
2. Close tray
In close tray. impression copings open by screws through the holes of tray and impression copings remain in impression material.
