Create incisal translucency and cervical chroma
Advantages
Cervical Tinting
1. Tints can be applied directly on tooth surface after preparation and placement of bonding adhesive of choice, or over a hybrid or nano composite prior to microfill overlay.
2. Use Honey Yellow or Light Brown tint or a combination of the two (ochre). Using a Cosmedent #1 Brush, thinly brush the tint onto the area where you want the gingival color to come from. Polymerize for 40 seconds.
3. Cover with Renamel Microfill composite; sculpt to shape.
4. Polymerize.
5. Continue the usual procedures. Once polished, a gingival hue will shine through. You will find that the resultant shading is dependent on the intensity of the tint that you placed as well as the thickness of the Renamel resin that covers it.
Tinting for incisaltranclucency
1. Tints can be applied directly on tooth surface after preparation and placement of bonding adhesive of choice, or over a hybrid or nano composite prior to microfill overlay.
2. Determine the desired amount of incisal translucency before the teeth are prepared or dessicated. For deeper intensity, Violet may be very useful.
3. Using a Cosmedent #1 brush, place a thin layer of the tint. Creative Color Tints will only go where you place them. These colors shine through quite readily, so only place as much color as needed.
4. Polymerize for 40 seconds.
5. Cover the entire surface with Renamel Microfill, or composite of choice. If desired, complete the restoration with the Renamel incisal shade. Because of the intensity of the tints and the translucency of body microfill, often incisal shades aren’t necessary.
6. Polymerize for 60 seconds. Contour and polish.
