Description

The Silane are bi-functional molecules that act as adhesion promoters. It is a binding agent with the purpose of increase the chemical adhesion between organic materials, adhesives containing methacrylic monomers and inorganics, such as ceromers, dental composite resin, glass fiber pin and ceramics that contain a glassy phase. The use of silane as a connecting agent is essential because the resistance of the composite is determined by the bond resistance between the filling and the matrix.

How to use?

A. Repair of Ceramics with Composites:
1. Make the prophylaxis of the surface to be prepared, with pumice stone and water, dry and isolate it.
2. Remove friable edges and rough the surface with a diamond tip.
3. Apply porcelain conditioner at the surface for the time recommended by the manufacturer.
4. Wash abundantly and dry entirely.
5. Apply the SILANE with the assistance of a brush across the surface, wait one minute and apply a new layer, wipe lightly with air.
6. Apply the selected adhesive and polymerize it as instructed by the manufacturer.
7. Promote the repair with a composite, adjusting it to the margins and avoiding over-contoured
     
  
B. Repair of Ceramic:
1. Make the prophylaxis of the surface to be prepared, with pumice stone and water, dry and isolate it.
2. Remove friable edges and rough the surface with a diamond tip.
3. Apply porcelain conditioner at the surface for the time recommended by the manufacturer.
4. Wash abundantly and dry entirely.
5. Apply the SILANE with the assistance of a brush across the surface, wait one minute and apply a new layer, wipe lightly with air.
6. Apply a conventional adhesive system selected and proceed the photoactivation according to the manufacturer's instructions.
7. Link the two parts holding them in position with slight pressure and photoactivate according to the manufacturer's instructions.
8. If there is a lack of ceramic, rebuild the fractured area with composite.
     
    
C. Cementation of indirect restorations with resin cements:
1. Make the preparation of the tooth surface according to the technique recommended by the cementing agent.
2. Make the acid conditioning using the porcelain conditioner, of the entire internal surface of restoration by the time recommended by manufacturer. Rinse and dry carefully.
3. Apply the SILANE with the assistance of a brush, wait a minute and apply a new layer, dry lightly with air.
4. Cement the fragment on the failure with resin cement in accordance with the instructions of the product.
  
  
D. Cementation of the fiberglass pins:
1. Clean the fiberglass pin with alcohol and dry with air.
2. Apply the SILANE with a brush, wait 1 minute and air dry.
3. Cement the pin according to the recommendations of the adhesive and of the resin cement selected.
