FotoSan 630 and LAD

Photo-Activated/Light-Activated Oral Disinfection Device

There are so many good reasons to use FotoSan LAD treatment. Since it's easy to integrate into the routine of the dental office, it's just a matter of getting started. The joy of treating with FotoSan and seeing the overwhelmingly positive effects is a great satisfaction.

Output power up to 4000 mW/cm2
Wavelength spectrum 620 to 640 nm
Treatment in 15 to 30 seconds per. treatment area.
Very powerful battery capacity and longevity.
Ergonomic pen grip.
Can be operated by both the left and right hand. Rotates 180º.
Lightweight and still strong, less than 120 grams.
Easy to clean.

FotoSan the obvious choice for both dentists and dental hygienists.
The 6 benefits of FotoSan LAD treatment:

Immediate effect
"You'll feel better tomorrow" is probably the most uttered phrase by doctors and dentists of all time. Imagine if the effect was immediate instead!
You have a patient in the chair with an acute infection. You treat with FotoSan for a minute or two, and before the patient leaves the chair, the symptoms are gone.
The LAD effect is instantaneous, as the chemical reaction takes only a fraction of a second.

Effective against all microorganisms
Can you imagine a product that kills ALL microorganisms? Not just a few bacteria, but all bacteria, and not just bacteria, but viruses and fungi?

FotoSan is such a product - of course with the limitations of the application technology:
1) The photosensitizer must be able to reach the target
2) The light must be able to reach the photosensitizer.

If you have optimal conditions, you will see the results!

Dose-dependent effect
Drugs are generally dose-dependent, but in this context, it means that with LAD, without side effects or risks, you can treat until the desired effect is achieved. All microorganisms are (of course) not equally sensitive to LAD treatment. Larger and more complex cell structures need more treatment (i.e. higher dose). However, the basic principle remains - as long as you treat long enough, all microorganisms will die.

Treatment can be repeated indefinitely
This property is a logical consequence of the above properties but deserves to be highlighted. Why? Yes, you may choose to treat a PA patient with systemic antibiotics, but what about next time? Will you repeat it every 3 or 6 months for the rest of your life, if necessary? No, of course not - nor should it be necessary with LAD. BUT you can choose to treat as often as required without side effects or risks.

No development of resistance
One of the biggest challenges in healthcare is the development of 'superbugs'. Genetic conditions dictate, in principle, that bacteria develop resistance to all antibiotics over time. But when the destructive effect occurs in a fraction of a second, this is not a risk.

No side effects
No side effects of any kind have been reported from the treatment. This is because the photosensitizer does not bind to the surface of normal human cells, but rather to all types of microorganisms. The reactive oxygen compounds (ROS) produced have an extremely short lifetime (nanoseconds). The photosensitizers used have a much lower affinity for mammalian cells, so no negative effects are seen on them, and hence no side effects in practice from the treatment.

FACTS
Principle of the treatment
1. A photosensitizer binds to the surface of micro-organisms.
2. The photosensitizer absorbs light in a specific spectrum, thereby absorbing energy.
3. The absorbed energy affects the O2 present, which is split into either O- or O-, commonly called ROS =Reactive Oxygen Specimen.
ROS is highly reactive and destroys microbial cell walls and other structures instantaneously within milliseconds.

The reactive oxygen compounds (ROS) formed to have a very short lifetime of a few nanoseconds, and travel only very short distances (a few micrometers). The ROS adhere only to the surface of the micro-organisms, and they have a different surface than human cells. These factors mean that there is no impact on human cells.
